A Schultüte is given to students in the German Program on their first day of grade one. Literally translated as "school bag" or "school cone", it is basically a large, cone shaped paper goody bag filled with school supplies, candy, small gifts or any other thing that would delight a child on their big day of school. It has been a tradition in Germany for hundreds of years, and it is a great tradition at Mills Haven School.
